(Saint John, NB) Giving the Saint John Seawolves a run for their money, the St. Thomas Tommies cashed out at the Canada Games Stadium with a final score of 2-0 over the home team. With what was a slow and steady first round that like the fable turned around in the second half, the tortoises that were the Tommies trumped the Seawolves. This sweeping streak that set St. Thomas square on the leaderboard in the ACAA can be credited to the impressive offensive performances of Brett Springer (3 SH, 2 SOG, 1 A) and Elias Stiphout (2 SH, 1 SOG) who scored the game winning goals in the second half.
While the Seawolves fought valiantly to turn the tide with players like Malek Karoui (1 SH) and Pedro Pinteus (1 SH, 1 SOG) making strong attempts on the STU net, in the end – it was to no avail. So, with the Seawolves now looking to reclaim their status in the rankings, it should be interesting to see how their next game on Saturday against the Crandall University Chargers plays out.
Until then, howl on, Seawolves!
