Gendron, Fury-Miller, Robichaud, McLellan Honoured with Seawolves Top Awards

The male Athlete of the Year was men's basketball senior and co-captain, Jack Fury-Miller (Grand Bay-Westfield, NB). Finishing the season on a historic note, Fury-Miller was honoured as an Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) First Team All-Star and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Second Team All-Star. He also earned the titles of ACAA and CCAA Athlete of the Week. His outstanding contributions were instrumental in leading his team to secure the first-ever men's basketball ACAA championship title in the program's history. 

Dominique Gendron (Dieppe, NB), a third-year on the women's volleyball team, was honoured as the female Athlete of the Year. This season, she displayed an impressive overall athletic performance with a combination of attacking power and defensive finesse. Gendron was recognized as both an ACAA first team all-star and CCAA All – Canadian, and she earned Athlete of the Week. Her significant contirubutions have been pivitol to her team's success over the years, including helping her team secure silver at the ACAA championships this season.  

The Dr. Ann Gorman Condon Academic Athletic Achievement Award recognizes one female and one male student-athlete who demonstrates excellence through strong academic achievement and who has contributed significantly to a sport on the Saint John Campus.   

The male recipient for the 2024-25 season was Liam McLellan (Fredericton, NB). The male recipient exemplifies the essence of leading by example. He demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to excelling in both volleyball and academics. Each year he has played for the Seawolves, he has been recognized as a National Scholar. While balancing his role as captain and his studies he was also named to the men's volleyball ACAA All-conference Team.  

The female recipient was third year from the women's volleyball team, Emily Robichaud (Hanwell, NB). She balances all the duties associated with being a high-achieving varsity athlete, while handling the busy workload of an engineering degree. She holds herself to a very high standard, and her work ethic contributes in a positive way to those around her.
