(Saint John, NB) The UNBSJ Seawolves earned a statement win on home turf Saturday, defeating the previously unbeaten MSVU Mystics 2–0 in an intense, hard-fought match that broke open in the second half.
MSVU controlled much of the early play with sharp, short passes and steady possession, but Seawolves goalkeeper Kaitlyn Brzezicki was outstanding, stopping multiple first-half shots to keep the game scoreless at halftime.
The physical intensity ramped up as the match wore on, with both teams battling for control in the midfield and refusing to give an inch. UNBSJ eventually found its rhythm and capitalized on key opportunities while maintaining a strong defensive structure. Despite a late push and several corner kicks from MSVU, Brzezicki and the Seawolves' back line held firm to preserve the shutout.
With the victory, UNBSJ improves to 6-4-1, while MSVU drops to 8-1-2. The win marks a key late-season push for the Seawolves, now securing their postseason appearance, showing composure, grit, and determination against one of the league's toughest opponents.
